Account Coordinator

So, what’s the opportunity?

To continue providing high-quality service and support to our growing clientele, spark* is expanding our team by adding a new Account Coordinator to our ranks. 

As part campaign manager, project manager, and copywriter, you will assist in the day-to-day activities of accounts, participate in client-facing meetings, and develop written communications materials.

This role is based in Ottawa/Gatineau and is a hybrid position with time in office required on a weekly basis.

The responsibilities related to this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting client campaigns, projects and strategy including researching, developing and updating plans and proposals working with other members of the Account team

  • Participating in and contributing to brainstorming sessions and strategy meetings

  • Monitoring and managing budgets for client projects

  • Drafting and editing a variety of written materials including but not limited to blogs, social media posts, press releases, ad copy, research briefs and scripts

  • Ensuring client satisfaction through regular communication via email, phone, video or in person

  • Sourcing opportunities for new business and supporting RFP and proposal development process

  • Adhering to deadlines and delivering quality work products

  • Fostering teamwork while working with other members of the team and coordinating projects internally

  • Working under tight timelines, prioritizing projects, and being able to shift gears when required

  • Demonstrating a positive attitude and be willing to take on new challenges, learn new things and show initiative to find solutions

  • Staying up to date on the news and current events

What makes an ideal candidate?

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a communications, politics, and/or public affairs role; consulting/agency experience is an asset

  • Degree/diploma in communications, politics, management, public affairs or other relevant program

  • Has excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Is able to manage many projects at the same time

  • Someone who loves news, politics and a good debate

  • Experience with social media, stakeholder management, media relations and public engagement is considered an asset

  • Demonstrate an interest and involvement in politics, civic engagement, and/or causes

  • Bilingual language skills
