In 2022, the Native Women’s Association of Canada launched the National Apprenticeships Program (NAP) in partnership with the Government of Canada.
The program connects small- and medium-sized enterprises with Indigenous women and gender-diverse people for apprenticeships in the skilled trades.
spark* has partnered with NWAC to promote the program to both SMEs and potential apprentices, through the creation of a website and a comprehensive communications and media outreach strategy. Campaign creative materials, including testimonial videos, have emphasized the benefits of a career in the skilled trades, the significant place that the skilled trades have in Canada’s future, and the importance to the sector of hiring Indigenous women and gender-diverse people.
