To continue to provide a high-quality level of service and support to our growing clientele, spark* is expanding our team by adding a Director of Client Solutions to our ranks.

The Director of Client Solutions will be responsible for the acquisition and conversion of new business. We are looking for someone who is energetic, competitive and knows how to motivate prospective clients. You will be collaborating with members of the team to generate new revenue and enhance client satisfaction and retention.

The responsibilities related to this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading public and private sector marketing and business development, including the coordination and development of responses to RFPs and other procurement mechanisms
  • Leading the sales cycle from lead generation to closure
  • Supporting new business with existing clients in conjunction with the Account team
  • Creating customized proposals based on the client’s objectives
  • Following up on potential opportunities by communicating company value proposition using tools such as case work
  • Working closely with spark*insights to gather and leverage insights into potential clients
  • Closing new client relationships and facilitating the kick-off of new projects (determining project goals, services, and budgets)
  • Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets set by senior leadership to deliver revenue growth goals
  • Staying up to date on important market and industry trends
  • Actively taking part in business community, industry, charitable, professional and trade organization events, and other networking opportunities
  • Assessing and identifying ways to penetrate new markets
  • Arranging debrief meetings following new business pitches and sharing intelligence on wins and losses with the team
  • Developing and managing CRM including maintaining accurate records for contacts and notes on all interactions
  • Support company leadership and partners with other strategic initiatives and associated processes as needed

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of business development/sales experience (in roles such as Account Executive, Account Manager, Sales, or Business Development)
  • Strong business development skills and track record of new client acquisition
  • Ability to tap into existing networks and previous relationships for new business opportunities
  • Have a team-oriented attitude but also an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ensure high level of professionalism and standards while also taking calculated risks to achieve sales targets and goals
  • Manage multiple new business opportunities under tight timelines
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluently bilingual (French and English) will be a strong asset
  • Agency related working background/experience will be a strong asset
  • Interest or background in Canadian politics, political causes, or civic engagement will be a strong asset

Location: Ottawa or Toronto

Compensation

The compensation for this role will be a blend of competitive base salary, a performance bonus, as well as commission based compensation tied to sales.
