Meagan is a skilled communications and public affairs professional. As a former senior level political staffer, Meagan honed her skills in managing high-stakes communications and navigating complex political landscapes.
At spark*advocacy, Meagan specializes in strategic communications, reputation management and stakeholder engagement, helping clients enhance their public image and achieve their organizational goals. Her deep understanding of communications, coupled with her sharp analytical skills enables her to develop tailored strategies that drive impactful results.
Prior to joining spark*, Meagan served as a senior advisor to the Nova Scotia Minister of Public Works and Government House Leader. In her role, she handled communications, policy and stakeholder relations for the Minister. She is particularly proud of supporting the Minister in shaping the future of the province’s transportation through the Joint Regional Transportation Agency (JRTA) that will change how people live, work and play in Nova Scotia.
Prior to that, Meagan served as Press Secretary for the Premier of Nova Scotia, where she successfully managed communications during pivotal events for the province, such as the historic wildfires and flooding events across the province. During her tenure, Meagan also served as the main spokesperson for the Council of the Federation while Premier Houston was Chair, moderating several nationally broadcasted press conferences. Meagan prides herself on having fostered strong working relationships with national and regional media.
Meagan holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto and a Master of Journalism from the University of King’s College in Halifax.
